Descriptiontrans-hexacos-2-enoyl-CoA, also known as (2E)-hexacos-2-enoyl-CoA, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as very long-chain 2-enoyl coas. These are organic compounds containing a coenzyme A substructure linked to a long-chain 2-enoyl chain of at least 22 carbon atoms. Thus, trans-hexacos-2-enoyl-CoA is considered to be a fatty ester lipid molecule. trans-hexacos-2-enoyl-CoA is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
