DescriptionSalicyluric acid, also known as N-salicyloylglycine or salicylurate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hippuric acids. Hippuric acids are compounds containing hippuric acid, which consists of a of a benzoyl group linked to the N-terminal of a glycine. Salicyluric acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Salicyluric acid exists in all eukaryotes, ranging from yeast to humans.
